Visit Baghlān

Baghlan is a province in the north of Afghanistan, bordering Tajikistan and Pakistan. Nicknamed the "Garden of Afghanistan," it's known for its lush green landscapes and snow-capped mountains. Tourists can explore the region's many historical sites, including Baghlan Castle, built by Amir Abdul Rahman Khan in 1888; or visit Hari Takhti, an ancient Buddhist temple dating back to 100 BC. For those looking for a more adventurous experience, there are plenty of opportunities to hike through the stunning mountain ranges or go bird-watching in nearby Gumbad-e Kalai Valley.

An interesting historical fact about Baghlan is that during World War II, it was home to several Soviet military bases. The ruins of these bases are still visible today and provide an insight into one of the most turbulent times in Afghan history.
