Visit Kunduz

Kunduz is the northernmost province of Afghanistan, known for its mix of modern and ancient culture. It lies on the Amu Darya River and is home to many ethnicities, including Pashtuns, Tajiks, and Uzbeks. The province has a rich history that dates back to Alexander the Great's era in 326 BC.

Kunduz city is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Kunduz. It offers visitors a glimpse into traditional Afghan culture with markets that sell jewelry, fabrics, spices, carpets and other goods. Visitors can also explore historic mosques such as Shah-e-Do Shamshera Mosque or take a walk around Haider Khan Lake where local fishermen ply their trade every day. Another popular tourist spot is Aliabad district which lies along the banks of Kowkcheh River; it's filled with lush greenery and tranquil settings perfect for exploring nature at its best.

An interesting historical fact about Kunduz is that it was once one of the major centers for goldsmithing in Central Asia by 16th century CE under Timurid dynasty rule by Babur Shah II who made great contributions to maintain its prosperity until 19th century CE when British forces destroyed parts of Kunduz city during Anglo-Afghan wars (1839-42).
