Visit Nangarhār

Nangarhar province in Afghanistan is a mountainous region located along the Durand Line border with Pakistan. It is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and archaeological sites, as well as being a major trading route between Central and South Asia. The Kushan Empire once flourished in Nangarhar, and it was a popular trade route for caravans travelling from China, India, Arabia and Europe in ancient times.

The Jalalabad Valley offers visitors great opportunities to explore the region's natural beauty. Other attractions include the historic Khyber Pass which served as an important gateway into India during Mughal rule, Takht-e-Sulaiman Monument - an impressive fortification built by Babur - and Khezer Ghah Rock Cut Temple carved into solid rock.

One interesting historical fact about Nangarhar is that it's where Arab forces first entered Afghanistan during their conquest of the region in 642 CE. Today Nangarhar remains steeped in history; from stunning countryside views to age-old monuments there's something for every visitor to enjoy while exploring its rich cultural heritage.
