Visit Nīmrōz

Nimroz is a province in southwestern Afghanistan, bordering Iran to the west and Pakistan to the south. This region is known for its stunning landscapes, with deserts set against snow-capped mountains. It is an ideal destination for those wanting to explore unspoiled natural beauty as well as learn more about Afghan culture.

One of Nimroz's tourist attractions is the ancient Minaret of Jam, located near Sar-e Pol-e Zahab village in central Afghanistan. The 65 meter tall tower was built by the Ghurid Dynasty in around 1200 AD and is considered one of Afghanistan's most important landmarks due to its historical significance and unique design. Another interesting attraction here is Gazar Gah Dam; a large (over 5km) artificial lake surrounded by mountains with popular activities such as bird watching and water sports available here year-round.

Historically speaking, Nimroz was once part of Alexander the Great's empire during his conquest of India (c 336 BC). In addition, this area was also frequently visited by Marco Polo during his travels throughout Asia and he wrote about it extensively in The Book of Marvels.
