Visit Zābul

Zabul is an eastern province of Afghanistan, located along the border with Pakistan. It is bordered by Paktika to the south, Ghazni and Paktia to the west, Kandahar to the southwest, Uruzgan to the northwest and Kunar Province of Pakistan in the east. Zabul is home to two main mountain ranges: Spin Ghar and Khawak Pass.

The city of Qalat serves as its provincial capital; it's known for its 12th-century mud towers and Sulaiman Lake - a picturesque reservoir surrounded by mountains. The nearby village of Malana provides an example of traditional Afghan architecture with a fortified citadel built on top of a hilltop.

Tourists can visit historical sites such as Mukur or Maqur in Deh Rawud district which includes Buddhist Stupas from Kushan period (1st till 4th century). Tourists can also travel through Band-e Amir National Park or take in views from Mount Spin Ghar which at close to 11000 feet high offers breathtaking views over surrounding hillsides.

An interesting historical fact about Zabul province is that during 1221 Mongol invasion led by Genghis Khan this area was used as rest station before attacks on Gharm territory (currently central Afghanistan).
