Visit Boumerdès Province


The Boumerdes Province, located in the north-east of Algeria, is a picturesque province with sprawling landscapes and an abundance of natural beauty. It's home to some stunning coastline along the Mediterranean Sea as well as forests and rolling hills in its interior. The area has a rich history that dates back to early settlements during Phoenician times.

The city of Zemmouri is the capital of Boumerdes Province and a great place to explore. There are many historical sites such as the Mausoleum of Sidi Dahmane, which was built in 1545 and is an important pilgrimage site for Muslims in Algeria. Also worth visiting is the old Souk El Had market where visitors can buy traditional products from local artisans.

Another interesting place to visit is Oued El Harrach, which features some impressive Roman ruins including an amphitheater dating back to the 3rd century BC. This historical site was once part of Hippo Regius, an ancient Punic trading post founded by Carthage during their rule over North Africa.
