Visit Djelfa Province


The Djelfa Province, located in the highlands of Algeria, is home to some of the country's most beautiful landscapes. It is surrounded by mountains and dotted with small villages and towns that feature unique Bedouin culture and many historical sites.

Visitors can marvel at the stunning Oued Mina Valley nearby Moudjebara or head to El-Khroub where they can visit Mausoleum of Sidi Abderrahmane Al-Kabir. This building houses an ancient mosque which dates back to 1591 and offers magnificent views from its terrace.

Another popular attraction in Djelfa is Ain El Kebira where visitors will find a large artificial lake surrounded by a lush park full of palm trees. The region also boasts several hot springs, such as Helal Hot Spring, where visitors can soak their feet in warm water for therapeutic purposes.

One interesting historical fact about Djelfa Province is that it was once the capital city of Idrisid Algerian dynasty that ruled over much of North Africa from 788 AD until 910 AD when it was conquered by Fatimids who hailed from Tunisia.
