Visit Mostaganem Province

Mostaganem is a province in western Algeria, located along the Mediterranean Sea. It's known for its picturesque beaches and coastal resorts like Sidi Lakhdar and Ain-Tedles. The city of Mostaganem itself is full of historical buildings and monuments that tell the stories of its past, with old fortifications like the Citadel of the White Dove and Ottoman-era structures like Mers El Kebir Mosque. Tourists can also explore several archaeological sites from different eras in the region.

One popular tourist spot is Djebel Sidi Boushab National Park, a natural park full of stunning landscapes with rugged cliffs, cedar forests, gorges, waterfalls and diverse wildlife such as boars, wildcats and otters. Another must-see attraction is Lake Tlemcen which offers breathtaking views with its three small islands connected by an arched bridge.

The area has a rich history stretching back to at least Phoenician times - legend states that it was founded in 1245 by Sultan Abou Yacoub Yakub Al Mansour who named it after his wife Mostegema (which means 'beautiful soul'). This makes it one of Algeria's oldest cities; indeed Napoleon Bonaparte stayed here during his North African campaigns in 1798!
