Visit M'Sila Province


M'Sila is a province located in the northeast region of Algeria. It has an area of 8,031 km2 and a population of 1.3 million. The capital city is M'Sila, which serves as the economic center and largest city in the region.



The climate of M'Sila is generally dry with hot summers and cold winters. The terrain includes mountains, hillsides, plains and plateaus where visitors can witness stunning scenery from up high.

Tourism in M'Sila features historical sites like Erg Chebbi Desert Dunes, where one can go on camel or 4x4 rides to explore these magnificent sand dunes; or visit Ksar Ouled-Soltane to discover Berber culture that dates back centuries ago through its well preserved traditional architecture and artifacts.

One interesting historical fact about this province relates to its name: it was named after "Emir El Msilah" who was a military leader during Ottoman reign in Algeria who laid siege on the city during 1558-1559 until it fell under Turkish rule.
