Visit Oum El Bouaghi Province


The Oum El Bouaghi Province is located in the east of Algeria and is known for its picturesque scenery, stunning landscapes and ancient remnants. It is home to a variety of flora and fauna, as well as rich cultural history. Popular tourist attractions in Oum El Bouaghi Province include Ain Beida, a beautiful mountain village with stunning views of the surrounding countryside; and Ksar El Hirane, a ruined city that was once an important trading post on the Silk Road.

An interesting historical fact about Oum El Bouaghi Province is that it was part of Numidia during the Punic Wars between Rome and Carthage (264-146 BC). During this time period, it was known as Ammaedara. Later during Roman rule (27 BC-AD 439), it became known as Thamugadi or Timgad where ruins still remain from this era.
