National Park of American Samoa MHJ Building, 2nd Floor Pago Pago, AS 96799

The National Park of American Samoa is located in the Pacific Ocean in Pago Pago, American Samoa. It provides breathtaking views of lush rainforest and richly-hued coral reefs below an expanse of cerulean blue skies. Visitors can explore nature trails that traverse dense jungles to get up close and personal with the island’s native flora and fauna. There are three distinct ecological settings to appreciate: coral reefs, tropical forests, and a volcanic mountain terrain.

The park also offers a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy such as snorkeling and kayaking around the pristine clear waters in search of elusive sea creatures swimming beneath the surface. Other attractions include a visit to Fagatele Bay, one of America’s smallest national marine sanctuaries, or touring historic World War II archaeological sites on Ofu Island. The National Park of American Samoa is truly a paradise destination for outdoor adventurers seeking an authentic Polynesian experience!

Plan your visit

Planning a trip to National Park of American Samoa? Here are some essential tips and tricks to help you make the most out of your experience.

First, take time to explore the different trails in the park. There’s something for every level of hiker–from easy strolls through lush rainforest to more strenuous treks up steep mountainsides.

Second, bring plenty of sunscreen and bug spray! The sun can be strong, and so can the biting insects.

Third, set aside some time for beach-hopping! Spend a few days exploring some of American Samoa’s stunning beaches with their crystal clear waters like Ofu Beach or Vatia Bay Beach.

Fourth, pack lightweight clothes that can easily dry since it does get humid here in American Samoa during spring and summer months. And don’t forget your camera - you’ll want to capture all those breathtaking views!
