Discover les Escaldes

Les Escaldes is a municipality of Andorra situated in the parish of Encamp. It is a popular tourist destination in the Pyrenees Mountains and its name means "the springs" due to numerous natural hot springs located throughout the area. This small city has a population of around 8,000 people, making it one of the most densely populated communities in Andorra.

Les Escaldes is home to an expansive shopping center featuring upscale retail stores, cafes and restaurants that offer traditional Catalan cuisine as well as international dishes. The area also features an outdoor recreational area where visitors can take part in activities such as biking and hiking along scenic trails with breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains. Additionally, one can visit Caldea Spa--the largest thermal spa complex in Europe--for some much-needed relaxation or enjoy some skiing during winter season at Grandvalira ski resort located nearby.

For those looking for something more adventurous or cultural, Les Escaldes also houses several historical sites such as Palau de Gel church and Ansalonga Castle both dating back to 12th century CE; Gaudi's Casa Rull --an example of his unique architectural style; and many other castles scattered around the city's outskirts.
