Visit Cabinda Province

Cabinda Province is a small enclave in the north of Angola, bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of over 600,000 people, mostly Bantu-speaking ethnic natives and immigrants from other African nations. The capital city is also called Cabinda, known for its unique blend of Portuguese colonial architecture as well as modern housing developments.

The province boasts numerous picturesque beaches along its coastline, making it an ideal spot for visitors looking to soak up some sun or take part in some water sports. Other attractions include traditional fishing villages and lush rainforests teeming with unique wildlife. One place that should not be missed is Ilha do Mussulo--a beach island located just off the coast that features pristine white sand beaches with stunning views across the ocean to Congo's borderlands.

Cabinda has a fascinating history dating back to pre-colonial times when it was home to powerful kingdoms such as KaKongo and Ndongo. In 1975 Cabinda became an autonomous region within Angola - a status which still holds today - making it one of Africa's few recognized self-governing territories.
