Visit Huíla Province


The Huila Province of Angola is home to some of the country's most stunning natural beauty. From lush green hills and valleys to deserted beaches, Huila provides a unique and diverse landscape to explore. It is also home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions and rhinos.

One popular tourist attraction is the Matala Caves near the city of Matala. This cave system was once used as a burial site by ancient civilizations and today visitors can explore its hidden chambers and tunnels.

Other attractions include Tunda Valley National Park which offers visitors opportunities for game viewing; the Mocamedes Desert with its sand dunes; Mucumbo waterfall which tumbles over 60 meters into a deep pool below; and Marienfluss Valley with its wild dogs, endemic bird species, hippos, crocodiles and sable antelopes.

Another point of interest in Huila province is Caluquembe Town which is considered one of Angola's oldest cities having been originally founded in 1575 by Portuguese explorers making it an interesting place for history buffs. Visitors can also enjoy Luanda Bay for fishing or simply taking in the views from this coastal town.
