Menongue

Kuando Kubango Province, known for its spectacular landscapes and abundant wildlife, is a beautiful region in the very south of Angola. It borders Namibia to the south and Zambia to the east. This province is known for its lush greenery, sprawling savannahs, and incredible biodiversity.

The Kalahari Desert covers a large part of Kuando Kubango and offers visitors an opportunity to witness firsthand some of Africa's most diverse wildlife. The region also boasts numerous national parks such as Bicuar National Park, which offers great opportunities for safari trips and game viewing activities.

For history buffs, Cuito Cuanavale is an interesting place to visit as it was where South African troops made their retreat during Angola's civil war in 1987-1988. The ruins of this important battle site make for a fascinating day trip from any nearby town or city.

Another touristy destination is Cahama Village which has been home to numerous ethnic groups since ancient times including Ovambo people who today form one of Angola's largest tribes. Cahama Village also holds an annual cultural festival where locals gather to celebrate traditional culture with music performances, dancing competitions and more!
