Kwanza Sul Province is located in the south-central region of Angola. The province has a unique landscape, with lush rainforests, savannahs and mangroves. It also has some of the most spectacular lakes in the country, including Lake Dilolo and Lake Quicama. There are also many national parks and reserves that offer visitors an incredible opportunity to explore nature at its finest.

Tourism is on the rise here as well, with attractions like Mausoleu de Nzinga Mbande, a memorial of Queen Nzinga Mbande who ruled in the 1600s; Namibian Lion Park; Lago Dilolo National Park; Quicama National Park; and many more sites worth exploring.

Kwanza Sul Province also boasts an intriguing history as it was inhabited by Portuguese colonists in 1576. In 1976 it was declared an independent state during Angola's war for independence from Portugal, making it one of Angola's oldest provinces
