Visit Malanje Province

The Malanje Province of Angola is located in the northern part of the country, near the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is an area known for its natural beauty, with vast forests and savannahs providing stunning views. The provincial capital city of Malanje provides a pleasant atmosphere and a great base from which to explore the area.

For those looking to get outdoors, Kalandula Falls is an amazing sight to behold. A powerful cascade of water that stretches over 400 meters wide, it is one of Angola's most impressive natural landmarks. Also worth a visit are Lake Kiova and Musseke Forest Reserve where you can spot some exotic wildlife in its natural habitat.

Malanje Province has some interesting history too; it was once ruled by Paulo Dias de Novais who founded Sao Paulo da Assumpcao de Benguela in 1587 - now known as Luanda - and became the first governor of Portuguese Angola in 1575! He was also responsible for introducing cocoa cultivation to the region - which continues today as an important economic activity for many Angolan households.
