Visit Formosa


Formosa, Argentina is a province located in the northeastern region of the country. It is bordered by Paraguay and Bolivia and has a population of about 515,000 people. The capital of this province is the city of Formosa which is known for its colonial-style architecture.

The city boasts beautiful landscapes including wetlands, lagoons and rivers. In addition, there are many parks with local flora and fauna for visitors to explore. Tourists can visit Hoyo de Epuyen, an area known for its wildlife viewing opportunities or take a boat ride through El Gran Chaco National Park to admire the diverse landscape up close.

Formosa also has plenty of interesting historical sites such as Isla Espiritu Santo where Fortin Pilcomayo was built in 1756 to protect local inhabitants from Portuguese invaders during colonial times. Additionally, tourists can visit Cathedral San Miuel Arcangel which dates back to 1777 or Plaza Belgrano which was constructed in 1871 and houses some of Formosa's original buildings still standing today.
