Visit Tavush Region


Tavush is a region in the northeastern part of Armenia. This rural area of Armenia is renowned for its spectacular landscapes, forested hills and deep gorges. The diverse flora and fauna of the region make it an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. There are several tourist attractions located throughout the region including Goshavank Monastery, Haghartsin Monastery and Dilijan National Park. Additionally, Tavush offers many outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, fishing and skiing during winter months in various locations like Aghstev Canyon or Ijevan Ski Resort.

For history buffs there is plenty to explore too; Tavush was one of the first parts of Armenia to adopt Christianity in early 4th century AD by St. Grigor Lusavorich (Gregory the Illuminator). Today this ancient culture remains alive through traditional villages scattered across Tavush's lush valleys where visitors can learn about local customs while enjoying delicious Armenian cuisine.
