Visit Central Eleuthera

Central Eleuthera of Bahamas is a stunningly beautiful island located off the east coast of Florida. With secluded beaches, crystal clear waters, and lush vegetation it's no wonder visitors flock to this paradise for a getaway. Touristy activities in Central Eleuthera include snorkeling and diving at Current Cut or Preacher's Cave Beach, where you can explore a number of reefs that are home to an abundance of tropical fish and sea life such as turtles and dolphins.

An interesting historical fact about Central Eleuthera is that it was once the hideout spot for the infamous pirate Blackbeard who managed to lay low here before being tracked down by British forces in 1718. Today, visitors can experience part of this exciting history when they visit Preacher's Cave-the same cave where Blackbeard had sought refuge over 300 years prior! Guests can also take a visit to Governor's Harbour which houses several structures from early colonial times such as Loyalist-style homes with gingerbread trim and pastel paintwork.
