Visit City of Freeport, Grand Bahama

The City of Freeport, located on the island of Grand Bahama in The Bahamas, is a vibrant tourist destination. Known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and white sandy beaches, Freeport's many attractions include swimming with dolphins at Dolphin Encounter and world-class shopping at Port Lucaya Marketplace. Its tropical climate also makes it an ideal getaway spot year-round.

Freeport is home to a variety of historical sites such as the Garden of the Groves, which was once owned by Sir Roland Symonette, the first Prime Minister of The Bahamas. A visit to this lush botanical garden will take you through winding paths lined with rare plants and exotic birds. Visitors can also explore spots like the Lucayan National Park or take a snorkeling trip to one of Freeport's many coral reefs for an adventure beneath the sea.

For over fifty years, Grand Bahama Island has been host to several important historical events including hosting U.S Presidents Eisenhower & Kennedy in 1959 when they met with then Prime Minister Lynden Pindling - who later became The Bahamas first Black Prime Minister - during their Caribbean visit.
