Visit Harbour Island, Eleuthera


Harbour Island, part of the Bahamas' Eleuthera island chain, is a tropical paradise with pink sand beaches and sparkling turquoise waters. It's known for its laid-back atmosphere and access to various activities like sailing, fishing, snorkeling and diving. Tourists flock to explore the area's pristine coral reefs or sail around its many cays and bays.

History buffs will want to visit Dunmore Town, Harbour Island's largest settlement which was founded in 1791 by the British Lord Dunmore. The town still has many colonial era buildings including a fort that once guarded against pirates and slave ships.

When visiting this picturesque island be sure to take a stroll down Bay Street lined with colourful clapboard homes as well as shops selling local goods like handmade baskets, jewelry and crafts.
