Visit Inagua

Inagua is the largest island of the Bahamas archipelago, located in the southernmost region. It is a sparsely populated and breathtakingly beautiful island full of history and culture.

The main attraction in Inagua is its huge flamingo population. There are more than 80,000 flamingos living on the island which makes it one of the most important breeding grounds for flamingos in all of North America. Here you can observe these beautiful creatures both in their natural habitat and inside The Inagua National Park aviary, both popular tourist attractions that draw many visitors to experience wildlife up close.

Another great attraction worth visiting in Inagua is Matthew Town which has been known as a center for salt production since 1790s when slaves imported from Africa transformed the industry by introducing new methods to produce salt from sea water. The legacy left behind by African settlers still stands today as locals still produce salt using traditional techniques inherited from their ancestors centuries ago.

In addition to its rich wildlife and cultural heritage, Inagua also features some stunning beaches that offer plenty of opportunities for watersports such as kitesurfing, snorkeling, kayaking and windsurfing - perfect for those looking to relax or get an adrenaline rush while exploring this lovely corner of Bahamas!
