Visit Southern Governorate

The Southern Governorate of Bahrain is located on the southeastern coast of the country. It consists of numerous towns and villages including Janabiyah, Isa Town, Al Qufool, and Jidhafs. Home to some of the most historic sites in Bahrain, it is a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike.

When visiting, be sure to explore Tubli Bay - an attractive beachfront location home to some of Bahrain's best seafood restaurants. Be sure to also visit Riffa Fort - built in 1812 during the reign of Sheikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Fateh Al Khalifa who was responsible for many other landmarks around today's capital city Manama.

One interesting fact about this area is that it is home to one of the oldest mosques in Bahrain - Muharraq Grand Mosque which dates back more than 600 years! This gorgeous religious site still stands today as a testament to history and culture throughout this part of the world.
