Visit Sylhet Division

The Sylhet Division is a region in the north-eastern part of Bangladesh, located at the foothills of the Himalayas. It was once a powerful and prosperous kingdom but has since evolved into one of Bangladesh's largest divisions. Comprised of four districts - Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Habiganj and Sunamganj - this area is known for its rich culture and lush green landscape.

The most famous tourist attractions in the Sylhet Division are renowned tea gardens such as Srimongal and Jaflong. The former features some beautiful waterfalls while Jaflong is situated right on the border with India, offering stunning views across both countries' landscapes. There are also many Buddhist monuments dotted around these areas that are worth exploring too.

An interesting historical fact about Sylhet Division is that it was actually ruled by an Indian princely state for over 2000 years before being ceded to East Pakistan after partition in 1947. This makes it one of the few places in Bangladesh to have experienced a different type of rule during its long history!
