Brest is a city in Belarus located on the banks of the Bug River. With a population of around 300,000 it is the tenth largest city in the country and lies close to the border with Poland. In spite of its proximity to both Poland and Russia, Brest has a unique cultural identity all its own, reflecting its long history as an important trading port and capital of West Belarus.

Visitors to Brest can explore this city's rich heritage by visiting one of its many great monuments or landmarks. The 28-metre tall Flame of Victory monument commemorates those who lost their lives during WWII while at Town Hall Square visitors can view remains from old fortifications dating back centuries. Tourists can also visit several churches within Brest such as St Nicholas Cathedral which was built in 1520 or Franciscan Church which opened in 1750 and features original stained glass windows from Belgium.

In addition to sightseeing there are plenty other things for visitors to do while visiting Brest including shopping at some trendy stores and boutiques located throughout downtown or sampling local Nabat candies that are produced nearby - famous throughout Belarus! There is also an active nightlife scene with clubs playing everything from hip hop music to traditional Belarussian folk songs, making for a truly unique experience and visit!
