The Mahilyowskaya Voblasts' of Belarus is a region in the northeastern part of the country. It is bordered by Russia, Lithuania, and Ukraine and is one of 6 regions in Belarus. Mahilyowskaya has a rich historical legacy and culture with visitors often marveling at its beautiful architecture. Tourists can explore the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery which was founded in 1625, or take a trip to Krichev where they can see the ancient fortifications from medieval times. In addition to these fantastic attractions there are many incredible natural sites such as lakes and woods that provide excellent opportunities for exploration and leisure activities. Other interesting places include Mir Castle which dates back to 1510, Nesvizh Castle dating from 1583, Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park with its unique wildlife species and various outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy. An interesting fact about Mahilyowskaya Voblasts' is that it was under Polish rule until 1939 when it became part of Soviet Union following WWII before finally becoming part of modern day Belarus after its independence in 1991.
