Visit Saint George's Island


Saint George's Island of Bermuda is a magnificent tropical paradise located in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 600 miles off the coast of North Carolina. The island is home to stunning pink sand beaches, crystal clear waters and amazing marine life. Tourists will find plenty to do on the island with activities like snorkeling, sailing, golfing and horseback riding.

One popular tourist attraction is the St. George Historical Town where visitors can explore over four hundred years of architecture and culture. Other notable attractions include Fort St Catherine which was built in 1612 by British soldiers as part of their defense against Spanish attacks, and Crystal Caves- an awe-inspiring network of underground limestone caves that were discovered in 1907.

The island has a rich history dating back to 1505 when it was first discovered by Spanish explorer Juan de Bermudez. The British took control of the island in 1612 and it remained under their rule until Bermuda gained its independence in 1968.
