Visit Haa District

The Haa District of Bhutan is a picturesque area located in the west of the country. Home to lush forests, rolling hills, and breathtaking views, it's no surprise that Haa is a popular destination for tourists.

One of the must-see spots in the district is Chele La Pass - at 3,988m above sea level it's one of Bhutan's highest mountain passes and offers stunning views. Another popular tourist attraction is Chokhorgyel Monastery - a fourteenth century monastery which contains ancient frescoes and murals as well as statues of various deities and religious icons.

Haa also has an interesting history; it was originally part of Tibet until the eighteenth century when it was annexed by Bhutan. The region then became famous for its high quality incense production in the nineteenth century and today, many people still make incense from local herbs found in this part of Bhutan.
