Discover Trashigang

 
Trashigang is a small town located in the east of Bhutan. It is situated on the banks of the river Drangme Chhu, and is one of the most remote districts in Bhutan. The main ethnic group in Trashigang are the Sharchop people, and this region is known for its stunning natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The area around Trashigang has an abundance of wildlife such as leopards, bears, Takin's, Sambar deer and Red pandas. There are also ancient monasteries located across the district that have remained untouched for centuries. Visitors to Trashigang can experience traditional village life at some of these small villages which still practice their old way of living today.

There are many popular attractions that visitors can explore while visiting Trashigang such as Khaling Wildlife Sanctuary, Tashi Yangtse Gom Kora Temple and Trashi Gang Dzong which was built in 1659 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to defend against invading armies from Tibet. These attractions will allow visitors to gain an insight into true Bhutanese culture and history that cannot be found elsewhere.
