Coripata is a small city located in the Department of La Paz in Bolivia. Coripata is situated near the Peruvian border and has an elevation of 3,500 meters above sea level. It has a population of about 28,000 people and its economy depends largely on animal husbandry, local crop production and tourism.

Coripata's unique geographic location allows visitors to experience both highland and tropical climates. Visitors can explore the nearby Andean Mountain range as well as view part of the Amazon rainforest from afar. The nearby Laguna Coripata offers great opportunities for bird watching while surrounded by stunning landscapes.
