Discover Huatajata

 
Huatajata is a small village located in the middle of Bolivia's high altitude Altiplano region. Located just west of Lake Titicaca, Huatajata is known as a gateway to the Bolivian Andes and offers visitors breathtaking views of the mountain range. While in Huatajata, visitors can experience traditional culture and explore some spectacular scenery.

One must-see destination is the Uma Kollu archaeological site which dates back 4,000 years. The ruins have been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and offer insight into ancient South American civilizations.

For adventure lovers, visit El Arbol de Piedra ('The Stone Tree') located just outside of town for spectacular rock formations created from hundreds of years of erosion from wind and sandstone formations. Spend some time exploring this unique area by foot or horseback for an unforgettable experience! There are also countless lagoons surrounding Huatajata where you can take part in activities such as kayaking or canoeing on the tranquil waters with beautiful views across the lake to islands in Peru!
