Visit Santa Cruz Department

The Santa Cruz Department of Bolivia is a large region in the eastern part of the country. It is home to many different cultures and ethnicities, including Guarani, Chiquitano, and Quechua people. It has hot summers and mild winters which provide an ideal climate for outdoor activities. The capital city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra is known for its vibrant nightlife, delicious dishes like chicharron and llajwa, and bustling markets full of local handicrafts.

The Andres Ibanez Province in southern Santa Cruz offers some of the area's most beautiful natural attractions including Amboro National Park where visitors can explore lush forests filled with diverse flora and fauna or float down the Pilcomayo River on a raft. The province also includes La Florida National Park which contains thousands of petroglyphs carved into rocks by ancient indigenous peoples that tell stories about their history.

Santa Cruz has a rich cultural heritage that dates back to colonial times when it was part of the Spanish Empire. Its independence from Spain was declared in 1825 after Simon Bolivar led a victorious battle against royal troops outside Santa Cruz de la Sierra - an event still celebrated as Emancipation Day today!
