The Southern District of Botswana is a stunning region located in the southeastern part of the country. It borders South Africa to the south and Zimbabwe to the east, making it an ideal destination for exploring all that Southern Africa has to offer. The district's diverse landscape includes savanna grasslands, wetlands, and woodlands with incredible wildlife viewing opportunities throughout.

Two must-see tourist attractions in the region are Ntwetwe Pan and Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Ntwetwe Pan is a large seasonal lake that is home to a wide variety of migratory birds, making it a bird watchers paradise. Meanwhile, Khama Rhino Sanctuary was established as an effort to protect and re-introduce rhinos into their natural environment after poaching had decimated their population in Botswana.

Finally, one interesting historical fact about this region is that it was once home to ancient hunter-gatherers who lived around 1 million years ago! Traces of their existence are still found today in granite caves scattered across the district, including Gubatsa Hill where some of these artifacts have been preserved for study and observation by visitors today.
