Itapaje is a city located in Ceara, Brazil. It has a population of approximately 28,000 and is considered the second largest city in the region. The economy of Itapaje is based mainly on agriculture and fishing, as well as some industry.

The main attraction to visit in Itapaje are its pristine beaches along the Atlantic Ocean's coastline. Tourists can relax and take part in water sports such as swimming, snorkeling and surfing at these beautiful beaches. In town visitors can explore old colonial architecture and churches such as Our Lady of Aparecida church or Igreja Matriz de Sao Joao Evangelista which are both impressive places to visit.

Visitors should also make sure to stop by Praca Getulio Vargas for some shopping or food stalls offering local foods like cuscuz, sarapatel or other typical dishes from Ceara region like carne de sol com macaxeira (meat with cassava). To learn more about the culture there are museums such as Museu do Homem do Sertao which offers information about local tribes like Kariris and Urubus that still live in this area today.
