Visit Federal District
The Federal District of Brazil is one of the 26 states in the country, located in Central-West Brazil. It is home to the nation's capital city, Brasilia, which was founded in 1960 and serves as the seat of the Federal Government. As a tourist destination, there are plenty of attractions to explore within its borders. A popular choice for visitors is Paranoa Lake, an artificial lake that offers stunning views and plenty of activities such as kayaking or stand up paddleboarding. Additionally, travelers can visit Cathedral of Brasilia to admire its modernist architecture and take in breathtaking views from its roof terrace. The National Congress Building (Camara dos Deputados e Senado Federal) also offers guided tours to those interested in learning more about Brazilian politics. An interesting historical fact about this state is that it used to be part of Goias until 1956 when it was separated by law and declared a federal district with autonomous government powers.
