Visit Mato Grosso do Sul


Mato Grosso do Sul is a state located in the Central-West region of Brazil. It borders the states of Mato Grosso, Goias, Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo and Paraguay. The capital of Mato Grosso do Sul is Campo Grande. It has a total area of 357,125 km2 and a population of 2,919,178 inhabitants as of 2019.

The state offers plenty for tourists to see and experience. Visit Bonito for its crystalline rivers and caves that are home to several fish species or explore the Iguacu Falls National Park with its breathtaking waterfalls on the border with Argentina and Paraguay. Also be sure to check out Pantanal Matogrossense National Park which is one of the largest wetland areas in South America where you can go on jeep or horse safaris and observe diverse wildlife such as jaguars and monkeys.

An interesting historical fact is that during World War II many German immigrants settled in Mato Grosso do Sul bringing their culture with them including architecture styles such as Bauhaus which you can still find today in some cities like Corumba, Aquidauana e Miranda.
