Visit Pará

Para is a state in northern Brazil, located at the mouth of the Amazon River. The capital and largest city is Belem, which serves as an important port for shipping goods from the interior of Brazil to the world. Para is home to some of Brazil's most iconic landscapes, including lush rainforests full of exotic wildlife, picturesque mountains, and beautiful beaches.

For tourists visiting Para, one must-see destination is Lencois Maranhenses National Park - an area consisting of sand dunes and crystal-clear lagoons in unique formations - perfect for a day of exploration and adventure. Another popular spot for visitors is Marajo Island - home to one of Brazil's largest wetlands and more than 400 species of birds that can be spotted during a boat tour around its many creeks and channels.

An interesting historical fact about Para dates back to 1616 when Portugal established a trading post there called Feliz Lusitania (Happy Lusitania). Later renamed Belem after a biblical reference ("Bethlehem"), it was once the main port from which African slaves were sent throughout South America.
