Visit Rio Grande do Norte

Rio Grande do Norte is a state located in the northeastern region of Brazil. It borders the states of Ceara, Paraiba and Pernambuco. The capital city is Natal, known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife. The coastline of Rio Grande do Norte offers plenty to explore, such as Praia de Pipa, a popular beach town with restaurants and bars; or Genipabu Beach, famous for sand dunes and water sports.

History buffs should visit Forte dos Reis Magos in Natal, a 16th-century fort that overlooks the city from across the bay. Inside are artifacts from Portuguese settlers as well as displays about local history. Another interesting sight is Sao Rafael Lighthouse on Fernando de Noronha Island - one of the first lighthouses built in Brazil during colonial times.

For an exciting cultural experience visitors can attend any number of traditional festivals, such as Forro Caju which celebrates the unique style of music created in Rio Grande do Norte. Or check out Festa Junina which showcases local customs with performances by folkloric bands and typical food stalls serving up dishes like buchada de bode (goat dish).
