Visit Danger Islands

The Danger Islands, located in the southern region of the British Indian Ocean Territory, is an archipelago of 55 small islands and is one of the most remote regions in the entire country. An untouched paradise, these islands are home to a wide variety of wildlife such as seabirds, dolphins and turtles.

One of the most popular tourist attractions here is Diego Garcia Island which has a vast lagoon surrounded by coral reefs which makes it an ideal spot for snorkeling lovers. Another great destination to visit is Peros Banhos Atoll which has some stunning white-sand beaches with crystal clear waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing.

Historically, these islands were used as a safe haven by shipwrecked sailors during World War II due to its isolated nature and unspoiled beauty. Visitors can still see remnants from this time period including wartime bunkers scattered across some parts of the island chain.
