Visit Eagle Islands

The Eagle Islands region is part of the British Indian Ocean Territory, located in the southern Indian Ocean. It consists of two small coral atoll islands, Peros Banhos and Salomon Atoll, surrounded by a chain of smaller islands. The climate is tropical year round with hot summers and cooler winters.

Eagle Islands is a great place for tourists to visit for its stunning beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Tourists can explore the unique island life by snorkeling or scuba diving in its crystal clear waters or hiking along Peros Banhos' coastal trails to see native birds and plant life. There are also plenty of beaches perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or just relaxing near the shoreline with stunning views of nearby coral reefs and turquoise waters.

One interesting historical fact about Eagle Islands is that it was once used as an auxiliary airfield during WWII by Allied forces in 1941-1945 during their campaign against Japan in South East Asia.

Two popular touristy places to visit are Dollywood Beach on Salomon Atoll which offers excellent swimming conditions as well as great surfing opportunities due to its waves and strong currents; and Gun Point Plantation on Peros Banhos which provides tourists with fascinating insight into what life was like when slaves were brought over from Africa hundreds of years ago.
