Visit Belait District

The Belait District of Brunei is located in the western part of the country and is home to some of its most popular tourist attractions. This district has a rich history and culture influenced by both Chinese and Malay cultures. It has a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, gibbons, proboscis monkeys, and various species of birds.

One popular tourist attraction in the district is The Jerudong Park Playground, an amusement park that features rides, water slides, arcades, and playgrounds for kids. Another must-see site is Tasek Lama Recreational Park which features lush gardens with ponds as well as trails for hiking or jogging.

Historically speaking, the Belait District was once one of Brunei's largest tin-mining centers during British rule in the 19th century. Some old buildings still remain today such as the Kampong Ayer Mosque which dates back to 1885. Visitors can also visit other historical sites like Sungai Liang's 'Karaok Village' - an area dedicated to preserving traditional karaoke singing culture from around Brunei.
