The Brunei-Muara District is a region located in the north-west of Brunei. It is the most populous district in all of Brunei, making it an important part of the nation's culture and history. The district contains many interesting places to visit, such as Kampong Ayer, a centuries-old traditional water village which has been referred to as "Venice of the East" due to its unique architecture. Additionally, there are many beautiful mosques and temples which attract visitors from all over the world throughout the year.

The district also boasts some fascinating historical sites such as Kota Batu Historic Site, where archaeological evidence suggests that Brunei was once home to powerful kingdoms during ancient times. For those interested in more modern history, there's Istana Nurul Iman; at 2 600 000 square feet it is one of the world's largest royal residences.
