Bansko is a beautiful city in southwestern Bulgaria, located on the slopes of the Pirin Mountains. It is considered one of the most popular winter resorts in the country, and is renowned for its large ski area and stunning mountain views. The town centre features a variety of traditional Bulgarian architecture, including old churches and cobblestone streets lined with small shops and cafes. Summers are sunny while winters are snowy; making it popular for both summer and winter activities including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, camping, rafting, horseback riding and picnicking.

The area also has some spectacular countryside to explore with lush green hills everywhere you look. There are several trails that lead to various areas such as waterfalls or mountain peaks making it ideal for nature lovers who want to take some time out from their daily lives to explore this stunning part of Bulgaria.

When visiting Bansko there are three main things to see: The Old Town which offers a great insight into traditional Bulgarian architecture; St Mary's Church which dates back to 1835; and the Vihren Peak - one of the highest points in Pirin National Park offering spectacular views over Bansko Valley below.
