Visit Centre-Est


The Centre-Est region of Burkina Faso is a vibrant, diverse area full of culture and history. Located in the central part of the country, this region is home to some of the nation's most important cities such as Koudougou, Ouagadougou, and Bobo-Dioulasso. It has something to offer everyone - from outdoor activities like hiking and exploring caves to cultural experiences like visiting local markets or traditional ceremonies.

A popular tourist destination in this region is Po National Park which is home to several species of flora and fauna as well as sacred sites for various ethnic groups. Another great place for visitors is Gourma Elephant Reserve which offers elephant watching opportunities when in season.

In terms of history, the Centre-Est region has been inhabited since ancient times with settlements dating back thousands of years ago. The area was also part of several powerful empires throughout its history such as Mossi Empire and French Sudan before becoming part of modern Burkina Faso in 1960 after independence from France.
