Discover Pictou
The town offers some beautiful scenery: rolling hills, sandy beaches, and plenty of outdoor activities. Every summer they hold the Pictou Lobster Carnival which is a great way to experience their local customs and cuisine.
Visitors can explore the Balmoral Grist Mill Museum and learn about the history of this area while admiring its scenic views of the harbor. For those looking for an adventure there is plenty of hiking at nearby Mount Thom or take part in kayaking excursions on West River. The Hector Heritage Quay also offers an interesting glimpse into Pictou's past with its 19th-century buildings lining the waterfront street and galleries showcasing art from local artists as well as antiques from around Nova Scotia. Lastly, no visit would be complete without indulging in some seafood - perhaps a seafood chowder or locally caught lobster!
