The Cathedral of Marie-Reine-du-Monde is a stunning architectural marvel located in the heart of Montreal, Canada. This magnificent cathedral, whose name translates to “Mary, Queen of the World,” is the third largest church in Quebec and is a scaled-down replica of the iconic St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, making it a must-visit for architecture and history enthusiasts.

While visiting, one can marvel at the cathedral’s intricate interior, which is adorned with gold leaf, beautiful frescoes, and 13 statues on the facade representing the patron saints of 13 parishes of Montreal. Another highlight is the Baldachin, a majestic, three-storey high structure over the altar, which is an exact replica of the one in St. Peter’s Basilica.
