Visit Mandoul Region

The Mandoul region of Chad is located in the south-west corner of the country, and borders Cameroon and Nigeria. This area is home to many diverse ethnic groups, such as the Sara, Mafa, Teda and Daza. With its lush green landscapes, rolling hills, and beautiful wildlife parks there are plenty of outdoor activities to explore in this unique region.

A great place for tourists to visit is the Zakouma National Park which is home to over 450 species of birds and several species of endangered mammals such as lion, elephant and buffalo. For those looking for a more historical sightseeing tour there are several sites around the Lake Fitri including pre-colonial ruins with ancient rock engravings that date back thousands of years.

For fans of culture there are also several traditional festivals like 'Swinging Djembe' which takes place every year in October during Ramadan where locals gather around a large bonfire exhibiting their music talent with drums and other instruments. An interesting fact about this region is that it was once part of an ancient kingdom called Kanem-Bornu which was established by Berber nomads in the 9th century CE before being annexed by France in 1920!
