Visit Ouaddaï Region


The Ouaddai Region of Chad is a stunning, diverse area located in the east of the country. It consists of vast grassy plains and rolling hills, dotted with small villages. This region is known for its beautiful natural landscape and plethora of wildlife.

For tourists, there are many interesting attractions to explore in the Ouaddai Region. One popular location is Daboua National Park which offers various activities such as hiking, safari tours and bird watching. Tourists can also visit Toukra Rock Art Site which contains ancient cave paintings that date back thousands of years ago.

The Ouaddai Region has a rich history that goes back hundreds of years; it was first inhabited by the Kanem Empire in 1000AD and later became part of Darfur Sultanate in 1646 AD before finally becoming part of Chad during colonization by France in 1920 AD.
