Visit Biobío

Arauco

Biobio is one of Chile's most beautiful regions. Located in the south-central part of the country, it stretches from the Andes Mountains to the Pacific coast. With its verdant landscapes, rich biodiversity and wide variety of outdoor activities, it's no wonder that Biobio has become a popular destination for tourists.

One must-see spot is La Serena Beach - an iconic beach where visitors can wander along miles of white sand beaches or catch some waves. Just inland from La Serena lies San Pedro de Atacama - a city surrounded by majestic mountains and home to many archaeological sites including Pukara de Quitor and Caspana - both created by ancient civilization over two thousand years ago!

Another interesting historical fact about Biobio is that it was home to Mapuche warriors who bravely resisted Spanish invaders for more than three centuries before their final defeat in 1881. The region has since been shaped by their culture and language with many restaurants offering traditional cuisine for visitors to try.
